Guides, resources and events

BCSD Portugal (Business Council for Sustainable Development / Empresarial para o Desenvolvimento Sustentável ): published a guide to sustainable events.

Music Festivals sponsored by EDP: major music festivals and performances sponsored by EDP in Portugal have benefitted from carbon footprinting, optimization, and neutralization through the e)mission service mark. EDP has since 2010 been committed to working with e)mission® to measure and neutralize the greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions associated with the music festivals sponsored by them:

  • Delta Tejo Music Festival
  • Optimus Alive Music Festival

  • Super Bock Super Rock

  • Sudoeste TMN

  • Super Bock Surf Fest

  • Positive Vibes o Marés Vivas Music Festival

  • Sumol Summer Fest

  • EDP Paredes de Coura

  • edpcooljazz – 100% e)mission neutral certified® event

What began as a commitment to partially offset the edpcooljazz festival, pertaining only to the carbon impact of the sponsorship and presence of EDP at the festival, was upgraded to achieve full carbon neutrality. All accounted emissions were fully offset by e)mission®, using high quality carbon credits from a clean energy project which contributes to sustainability and development: a mini hydroelectric power generation system located in Honduras, coupled with a rural electrification system to ensure that electrical energy was made available where before it was not.
